Click here to begin the online donation process On November 6th 2008, Hambidge will hold its 13th Annual Art Auction at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. The Auction, Hambidge’s largest fundraiser, built its reputation on the generosity of Hambidge Fellows and other supporters within the arts community who are passionate about the mission of Hambidge. We hope that you will help continue this tradition by donating a piece of your artwork to this year’s event. The Auction proceeds will go towards scholarships for artist residencies as well as environmental projects established to preserve the beauty and integrity of the pristine sanctuary that is Hambidge. Curator Anne Lambert Tracht will be this year’s art consultant. She will be selecting approximately 25 – 30 pieces for the live auction and 75 – 100 pieces for the silent auction. As a participating artist, you will receive a complimentary ticket to the auction, be listed as a participant and will be invited to attend a preview party on October 23rd at the home of Melissa Bunnen Jernigan and James Jernigan. This will be a fun evening where you can mingle with fellow artists and many of Hambidge’s most avid collectors. If you decide to donate 100% of your commission, you will also be invited to ARTINI, a pre-auction VIP party on Auction night, as well as receive special recognition at the Auction, in the catalog and on our website. The Auction attracts a diverse audience of established and emerging artists, dealers, collectors and designers, providing a unique opportunity for you to get your work into the hearts, minds and collections of these influential patrons of the arts. Over 350 attended last year’s Auction and we anticipate an even greater number this year. Hambidge, an artist residency retreat center, supports the arts by providing the setting, the solitude and the time necessary for creativity. We hope that you will take this opportunity to support Hambidge, an organization with a long history of commitment to supporting artists by nurturing the creative spirit and encouraging an appreciation for the arts within the community. Please express your interest in donating at your earliest convenience. The application deadline is September 19, 2008, and all approved artwork must be received no later than October 16, 2008. We look forward to hearing from you!
